SOLVWASTE LAUNCHES NEW BATTERY BOX SERVICE
The Batteries and Accumulators (Placing on the Market) Regulations 2008 came into effect on 26 September 2008, imposing strict rules on recycling all types of batteries, including a complete ban on sending them to landfill. This legislation will affect every business that uses batteries.
Solvwaste can provide your business with a battery box, which allows you to segregate and recycle your batteries. Battery recycling helps to save resources by allowing the recovery of valuable metals such as nickel, cobalt and silver.
Solvwaste’s battery box service allows you to recycle all Nickel Cadmium, Nickel Metal Hydride and Lithium ion batteries. They are sorted, segregated and currently sent to France for recycling. Lead acid batteries are collected and recycled within the UK at approved metal recyclers, where key constituents such as Lead, Cadmium, Ferrous Nickel, and Copper are all recycled.
